Motorcycle Insurance Lingo Explained!

The limits in the examples of actual policies sold are shown without the thousandth (1000) multiplier. In other words, when we show "25/50 BI", that really means:

$25,000 per "each person" for bodily injury, and $50,000 for "each accident" is the total limit for all claims for damages from bodily injury to two or more people in any one accident.

Motorcycle Excursion/Diversion Coverage

This is a Dairyland endorsement added to all policies with comprehensive and collision coverage, "Full Coverage". Excursion/Diversion coverage is activated when you are over 100 miles from home.

For any loss covered under comprehensive or collision insurance, following special limits apply:

• $1,000 limit for damage to safety apparel
• $400 maximum per occurrence for temporary lodging, transportation. and meals
• $100 per day for temporary lodging, "hotel room"
• $45 per day for transportation, "rental car"
• $50 per day for meals
• $400 for lost room deposits; every attempt must be made to cancel the reservation
• $300 for towing and road service
